S.O.D. "Waters of March" by Susannah McCorkle
3/19/2021 Originally composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, this Brazilian bossa nova song was published in 1972. He wrote the lyrics first in Portuguese, and then English. McCorkle’s version is catchy, and out of nearly 70 versions of this song, hers made it to the humble, not famous at all SOD list. Is that really saying something? Probably not. Jobim’s inspiration to write the song stems from the violent storms that occur every March in his hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He left us in 1994 at age 67 after composing more than 120 works.
