S.O.D. "Slow Drag" by Turner Foddrell
1/10/2021 This Piedmont blues musician was born in Stuart, Virginia in 1928, and passed in Blacksburg, Virginia, 1995. He was active in music from the 60s until his death, and released two albums as far as we know. Although Mr. Foddrell toured the US, and a little in Europe, the family did not like traveling far from home. His father was a well-known multi instrumentalist, and mostly everyone in the family played something. Turner owned a general store complete with a gas station. This was somewhere near the North Carolina border. He was discovered along with his older brother Marvin, by a local DJ, as they played a jam session inside the store. This was in the 70s.
