S.O.D. "Knock On Wood" by Eddie Floyd

1/19/2020  We are going back to 1966 when this song was written by Floyd and guitarist, songwriter and record producer Steve Cropper.  Both men are still active in music at 82 and 78.  It was a #1 hit song on the R&B charts and has been covered many times.  Cropper was a member of the Blues Brothers and is ranked at #39 on Rolling Stones list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.   Floyd has mostly been with Stax records and two years ago at the age of 80 did a tribute concert at the Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms celebrating 50 years of Stax music.
