S.O.D. "Living For the City" by Stevie Wonder

12/2/2019  This 1973 tune tells the story of a black Mississippi man seeking a better life to the north.  Dealing with systemic racism, it is one of the first soul songs to do so. Listen for natural sounds recorded right on the street. Wonder plays all the instruments on the track which charted internationally.  It took the #1 spot on the Billboard R&B chart, won two Grammys, and is ranked at #105 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Tme.  If you want to see somebody who can break barriers, look at Wonder.
