S.O.D. "The Old Lamp-Lighter" by Swing and Sway with Sonny Kaye

6/23/2018     This song is a remembrance of the profession of the lamplighter. They would walk the streets lighting the gas powered streetlamps at dusk and put them out at dawn.  This is the most successful version which reached #1 on the Billboard chart in the late 40s.  It was originally written by composer Nat Simon and lyricist Charles Tobias.
