S.O.D. "You're A Sweetheart" by Dolly Dawn & Her Dawn Patrol

3/7/2018      Born, Theresa Ann Marie Stabile, she first went by the alias Billie Starr.  Using this name as a teenager she appeared on a regular weekend radio show.  Recording for two record labels was not really heard of in those days and Dolly was using Billy Starr for RCA and Dolly Dawn & Her Dawn Patrol for Vocalion Records.  She was eventually on the radio every day, featured with a group or solo, and became one of the most successful singers of the late 30s and early 40s.  Stabile was a major influence on Ella Fitzgerald and was dubbed the “Champagne of Big Band Singers.”
