S.O.D. "Son of a Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield

3/30/2018      A 1968 tune from her album, "Dusty in Memphis," written by the songwriting team of John Hurley and Ronnie Wilkins.  It was to be Springfield's last top 10 hit for close to 20 years.  With a career lasting close to 40 years, the British star was one of the most important icons of rock 'n' roll.  She was born Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien.  Her name graces the inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame
