S.O.D. "African Skies" by Michael Brecker
11/15/2018 This incredibly talented saxophonist who left us in 2007 was a part of well over 100 works. His death was due to leukemia, and since that time, his wife Susan has worked diligently and selflessly to raise money for the fight, Including many international bone marrow drives. Brecker worked with many musicians including Quincy Jones, McCoy Tyner, George Benson, and Billy Joel on which he played saxophone for two of his albums. He often collaborated with his brother Randal Brecker, a well known trumpeter and composer. Check out his last two album releases; “Some Skunk Funk,” featuring brother Randal, and “Pilgrimage” with Herbie Hancock and other seasoned musicians.
