S.O.D. "Angel Eyes" by The Jeff Healey Band

10/14/2018  Written by songwriters John Hiatt and Fred Koller, this 1989 rock song topped out at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.  You may remember The Jeff Healey Band from the movie "Roadhouse" starring Patrick Swayze.

Healey released five albums and 21 singles, of which only three did not chart.  He was an avid record collector, eventually gathering a total of over 30,000 RPM records.  Healey also played trumpet and piano and was a huge jazz enthusiast. In his later music career around 2001 he completely changed his genre to jazz.  

He was born in Toronto and would pass in 2008 in his hometown from cancer at age 41.  Close to the age of one, he lost his sight to a rare eye cancer.  Check out some of his live stuff.  He was an amazing slide guitarist.
