S.O.D. "Doctor Dark" by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band

1/16/2018      This Multi instrumentalist and paranoid schizophrenic, born Don Glen Vliet was active from 1964–1982, mainly playing avant-garde rock, blues rock, and experimental music.  He would severely mistreat his musicians both verbally and physically, sometimes not even feeding or paying them, and taking credit for the compositions that they put together.  The Magic Band reformed in 2003 without Beefheart (Vliet).  This allowed audiences to actually hear the band instead of being drownded out by Vliet’s vocals or saxophone.  Their last tour was 2013-2014 in Europe. Including Vliet, the band totaled 44 members.
