S.O.D. "The Fool" by Sanford Clark
8/16/2017 Written by singer, songwriter and record producer, Lee Hazelwood, it is Clark's signature song. Born in 1935, he was raised in Phoenix, AZ, and began performing there in his teens. During his time in the Air Force, he formed a band in Hawaii that won a local talent contest. After returning to his hometown, he teamed up with his friend and guitarist Al Casey. Hazelwood was a DJ when he met the duo, and they recorded his song in 1956. Ranking on three charts in the U.S., the country – rockabilly tune kick started Clark's tour, opening for Roy Orbison and Ray Price. Sanford is still with us.
