S.O.D. "Double Barrel" by Dave and Ansell Collins

8/22/2016     Here is some reggae for you from 1970.  Written and produced by singer/songwriter and producer Winston Riley who also formed The Techniques in 1962.  It charted quite well, topping the UK charts and coming in on the Billboard Hot 100 at #22.  Their most successful single, it is the title track of their first album.  

     Dave is not Ansell's brother.  He is Dave Barker, born October 1947 in Jamaica. He changed his name to Barker from David John Crooks and is a session vocalist.  Collins is a keyboardist.  "Monkey Spanner" is their other popular single and definitely worth a listen.
