S.O.D. "The Way We Were" by Barbara Streisand

7/8/2015     This tune took home the Grammy for Best Song of the year in 1974 and also won an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award.  It finished at #8 on the list of 100 Years.... 100 Songs Survey of Top Tunes in American Cinema in 2004 and was included on the list of Songs of the Century.  

     Streisand is considered the mother of all pop divas and her only instrument is vocals which is all she needs.  In every major category of entertainment she has won an award which is an achievement that few have reached. She is also the first female to write, direct, produce and star in a major studio film.  This film was Yentl which won Academy Awards for Best Score and Best Motion Picture Musical. Streisand won the Golden Globe for Director, being the only female to date to do so.  

     As far as music goes, she has been performing for 60 years and has sold more than 245 million records worldwide.  To her credit are 53 gold albums, 31 platinum albums and 14 multi-platinum albums.  Barbara Streisand is the only female of the Top 10 Best Selling Artists in the World and the only artist outside of the rock and roll genre.  Google her, it's staggering.
