S.O.D. "Ode To My Family" by The Cranberries

6/24/2016      Like most songs from this Irish group, lead vocalist Delores O'Riordan did the writing and composing.  Charting in 11 countries, the 1994 tune landed at #5 in Australia, #4 in France, and in their native Ireland, #16.  Focusing on her childhood, O'Riordan based the song on her desire to get back to that time in her life, having already accomplished her career.

The group has released six albums and 19 singles with 9 making the top 10.  The Cranberries started out in 1989, and are now one of the top selling bands in the world in the 90s with over 40 million records sold.  They went on hiatus between 2003 and 2009 and are active again.  They began a European tour in 2016 with their first performance on June 3.   Only one past member is listed throughout their tenure.
