5/6/2015 One of the most popular Yes songs and a song that has been featured at every concert since it's 1972 release. The full length version is 8:29 and was shortened to 4:54, which went Gold. There is controversy regarding the song's meaning and most have agreed that it describes lead singer Jon Anderson's, (who also wrote the song) personal life and his longing to return home after the tour promoting the album "Fragile". Guitarist Steve Howe also had a hand in the composing. On the charts it climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #23 on the Dutch Top 40. Billboard ranked it as the 91st top song for 1972.
Yes was formed by Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire in London, early in 1968. A progressive rock band also falling under the genres of pop rock, art rock and symphonic rock, they are well known for there live stage sets, mystical lyrics and lengthy compositions filled with complex instrumental and vocal arrangements. Of their 20 studio albums, 9 reached the top 10 in either the U.S. or UK with 2 going to #1 in the UK. In 1983 they released "Owner of a Lonely Heart" which was a #1 single in the US. Yes is still touring and giving fans their moneys worth with a few new members.
