S.O.D. "Seven Bridges Road" by Steve Young

5/30/2016     Looks like I missed this tribute. This gentleman was close to 50 years of artistry when he passed on to Music Heaven on March 17, 2016 due to a head injury from a fall.  He is well known as being one of the pioneers of the Country-Outlaw movement of the 70s along with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and others.  "Seven Bridges Road" was his most popular tune of which many artists covered. It is probably most well known for its version by the Eagles.

When young was a teenager he became involved in the music scene in Alabama.  He soon moved to New York, and with his musicality, blended in with the Greenwich Village folk music era.  After this it was on to LA where he was living with other musical talents from Alabama in a house called Tobacco Road.  There, Young became part of the band, the Gas Company, which also featured Stephen Stills.  Some of his other hits that were made famous by other musicians are, "It's Not Supposed to Be That Way", Willie Nelson.    "Lonesome On'ry and Mean", Waylon jennings., and Hank Williams Jr's version of "Montgomery in the Rain."
