S.O.D. "All is Not Lost" by OK Go

5/19/2015     OK Go describes this song as a "love letter" to Japan.  The main focus of the song is the video and it's production filmed in Japan shortly after the Tsunami.  A Google Chrome team in Japan contacted the band and enlisted the dance group Pilobolus 7 to interact with the band with the video being performed on a steel platform with see-through plexiglass and shot from below with a projector as an experiment for HTML5.  It was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2012 for Best Short Form Music Video.  The song was recorded in 2009 and released in 2011 from their album "Of The Blue Colour of The Sky" and falls under the genres of alternative rock and power pop.

OK Go was formed in Chicago in 1998 with just one past member so far. They have received many awards for their videos including 7 Lion awards.  Political and social issues, activism and charity work are some of the bands continuing interests.  In 2007 they released the charity EP "You're Not Alone" which helped raise money for displaced musicians after Hurricane Katrina.  Because of this they were asked to appear on David Letterman.
