S.O.D. "What's Left of the Flag" by Flogging Molly
4/28/2015 This American Irish punk rock band that originated in Los Angeles has been held together mainly by Dave King, former leal vocalist for the hard rock band Fastway. Fiddle player Bridget Regan stood by King's side after guitarist Ted Hutt and bassist Jeff Peters left the band a few months later to rejoin a former band that had scored a record deal. By this time Flogging Molly had already developed their own unique sound and a small following, playing weekly at Los Angeles pub, Molly Malone's.
Dave and Bridget set out to find new members and continued a Monday night routine at Molly Malone's until one night a 17-year-old Nathan Maxwell snuck into the show as a fan. After acquiring Maxwell, the band took off and created the live album, "Live Behind the Green Door," as well as several studio albums and the live/acoustic DVD/CD set "Whiskey on a Sunday" that went platinum. In 2008 they released their highly acclaimed album "Float" which was dubbed one of the most important albums of the year if not the decade by Alternative Press.
King stated during an interview with Kerrang that the name of the band is due to playing so many weeks in a row at Molly Malone's, feeling as though they were flogging it to death. In 2009 Dave and Bridget were married in Tokyo, Japan at a private ceremony. This song is from the album "Whiskey On a Sunday," Enjoy!!!!
