S.O.D. "I Just Wanna Stop" by Gino Vannelli

3/26/2016     Gino joins his brothers, Joe and Ross in the production of this 1978 blue-eyed soul/soft rock release. Ross Vannelli is the sole writer and Joe provided keyboards.  The song is from their platinum album, "Brother to Brother," which received positive criticism and is a rich, intriguing mix of arrangements.

In 1975, just three years into his career, he became the 2nd Caucasian performer featured on Soul Train and around the same time became the opening act for Stevie Wonder's tour.  "I Just Wanna Stop" became the #1 single in Canada, #4 in the U.S., and was nominated for a Grammy.  Awards did come the Vannelli brothers' way in the form of Junos and musical engineering awards.

Aside from his brilliant vocal ability, Gino is versed on guitar, piano and percussion.  Nineteen studio albums and 25 singles are to his credit.  These days you might be able to find Gino doing a show in Las Vegas.
