S.O.D. "What A Fool Believes" by The Doobie Brothers
2/6/2015 Just the name of the band persuades you to buy their records. Maybe there's a doobie in the sleeve! The rock group that got their start in San Jose, CA, had 36 singles in all, with 2, including this one, going to #1. Can you guess the other? Lots of vocal harmonizing in both. They have sold more then 40 million records worldwide.
The 1979 hit was written by then keyboardist, Michael McDonald and guitarist/vocalist, Kenny Loggins who was never part of the group. Loggins released a version approximately 5 months before The Doobies'. Latin group Matt Bianco (a band name, not a person) did a successful cover in 1991.
For 2016 a four month tour is scheduled for the U.S. alongside Journey. Their biggest fans are teens and adults in their 20s.
