S.O.D. "I Saw the Light" by Todd Rundgren

"I Saw the Light" by Todd Rundgren.  From his album Something/Anything?comes this clever soft rock ballad which was on the soundtrack from the 1991 movie, "My Girl".  Rundgren is the songwriter and producer for the tune which took #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #12 on the Easy Listening chart. In 1972, Billboard ranked it at #88 for the year.  

     Rundgren is an American songwriter, record producer and multi- instrumentalist. In the 1970s and 80s Rundgren had learned how to mix, engineer and produce his own music.  He proceeded to produce albums for other artists such as Badfinger, Grand Funk Railroad, Meatloaf and the New York Dolls.  Aside from "I Saw the Light" some of his biggest hits include "Hello It's Me"  and "Bang the Drum All Day".  

     He has had more than eight videos on MTV and instruments to his credits include guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums, saxophone and the theremin which is an electronic music device  that senses frequencies and needs no physical contact.  The album "Something/Anything" was certified gold in 1972.
