S.O.D. "Waiting On a Friend" by The Rolling Stones

2/14/2016     Standing outside of 96–98 St. Mark's Place in Manhattan is where you see Mick Jagger waiting for Keith Richards in the music video for this song.  It is the same building that Led Zeppelin featured on their album "Physical Graffiti".  Released as a single in 1981, it is the first Rolling Stones song to be featured as a music video.  The song did not fair so well in Europe topping out at #50.  In the US it went to #13 on the singles chart and up to #9 in the Netherlands.

It speaks of finding the meaning of a true friendship and setting women aside, showing a more mature side of Jagger.  "Waiting on a Friend" was placed on the album "Tattoo You" which is there 16th British and 18th American studio album followed by "Emotional Rescue" in 1980. The album sold more than 4 million copies in United States alone.  The song is featured in the 2014 movie "The Normal Heart".  The incredible Sonny Rollins provided saxophone for the tune.
