S.O.D. "The Dark Ages" by Bedhead

11/29/2016     This indie rock/post-rock/slo-core group traces back to Wichita Falls, TX where Brothers Bubba and Matt Kadane would make music together in their childhood years.  They formed the group in 1991 and proceeded to release four albums, three EPs and 3 singles.  Until their break up in 1998, all members stayed constant with the lineup consisting of three guitars, bass and drums.  Many of their vocals are spoken and much of their music is low-key.  

     At one point, Allmusic named them the quintessential indie rock band of their time, using gorgeous melodies and vocals that actually work.  Many of their songs begin slow and pick up intensity although critics came up with the genre slo-core, prompted by some of their tempos.
