S.O.D. "Kansas City Southern" by Turnpike Troubadours

11/21/2016     Another new genre found here called Red Dirt.  It can be in the form of country, Western swing, folk, Bluegrass, Southern rock, Tulsa sound and others.  The origin comes from Stillwater, Oklahoma which is located in the north central part of the state.  As of 2010, Stillwater's population was just under 46,000.  

     Active since 2007, they have released 4 albums with their 2012 "Goodbye Normal Street" reaching #57 on the Billboard 200.  Two music videos are also to their credit for the songs "Gin, Smoke, Lies" and "Down Here."
