SO.D. "I'll Walk Alone" by Dinah Shore

11/2/2016      This 1944 hit song was covered by quite a few artists with this version having the most success.  It has to do with the separation of couples during World War II and reflects the life of the person waiting for their loved one to return home.  It was Shore's first #1 hit.    

     The song was composed by Jules Styne and lyrics are the work of Sammy Cahn, who performed his own version in 1970.  Singing the song on the soundtrack of "Flags of Our Fathers," is Clint Eastwood.
