S.O.D. "Champagne Ladies and Blue Ribbon Babies" by Ferlin Husky
10/22/2016 One of his last singles to be released, and the title track from his 1974 album. Sounds like he is confessing his infidelity. Withstanding a 66 year career, he was known for the genre of country but also dabbled in rockabilly, honky-tonk and others. After a five-year stint in the Merchant Marines, he began work as a disc jockey in Missouri, developing his alias Simon Crum along the way. From 1948 to 1953 he took the stage name Terry Preston.
Beginning his career in 1945, he was one of the first country artists ever and one of the first to earn a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Husky released 35 albums and 51 singles with 25 making the top 20 and 12 making the top 10 of which 3 went to #1. I've been checking out some of his music and TV appearances, pretty interesting. He was quite the personality.
