S.O.D. "Bringing Mary Home" by The Country Gentlemen

1/31/2015     Old time Bluegrass here from a group that began their musical career on July 4th in 1957.  The four founding members were Charlie Waller on vocals/guitar and the only constant member throughout the band's active years, John Duffey plucking the mandolin and vocalizing, on banjo and vocals was Bill Emerson and Larry Lahey worked the bass.

Until 2004 the group was known as The Country Gentlemen with Charlie Waller taking responsibility as band leader and main entertainer.  After Waller's death in 2004, his son Randy took his place.  They now tour as Randy Waller & The Country Gentlemen.  Randy comments: "To be able to replace him (Charlie Waller) as the lead singer and guitar player with The Country Gentlemen is a dream come true."

This song has to do with many a suitor interested in a girl named Mary and  their inability to bring her home to her parents.  This was due to her being a ghost.
