S.O.D. "This Will Be" by Natalie Cole

1/3/2016   Another tribute here as Natalie left us on New Year's Eve at the age of 65.  Daughter of Nat King Cole, she sang on her father's Christmas album at the age of 6 and was performing by age 11.  She didn't have a choice but to become an instant star and like most artists probably had many influential people pulling her every which way. Maybe it was that, maybe it wasn't, she went down a drug addiction path for a while in the late 70s – early 80s but did make a nice rebound.

     She was the first female artist to achieve 2 platinum albums.  Over 30 million albums sold, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the winner of several Grammys.  Cole also had a decent acting career. She was active in the music business for 59 years, as a vocalist and pianist.  This tune climbed to #1 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart and ranked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
