S.O.O. "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse

1/16/2015     Amy Amy Amy, why did you leave us?  She didn't just write and perform songs that were hits, she wrote and performed songs that hit you, in the gut, the mind, the body and the heart.  Songs that would stay with you for a long time or forever.  She broke all the rules and paid the ultimate price, but her fans still love her.

By the age of 19, she had already signed a record deal and had other companies  pursuing her.  In just 8 years she became one of the biggest successes in music history, being nominated for 63 awards with 25 wins.  She completed her accomplishments with 14 singles from 2 studio albums.  On VH1's 100 Greatest Women In Music list, she was ranked #26 in 2012, approximately 7 months after her death.  She also holds a Guinness world record for the Most Grammy Awards won by a Female British Act.

She is credited for leading the way for many female vocalists, including Lady Gaga, Adele, Lana Del Rey, Jessie J, Misha B, Ellie Goulding, Estelle and a few others.

Her parents have put together the Amy Winehouse Foundation which works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people and supports and inspires disadvantaged younger people to reach their full potential.  She actively supported 34 charities.

Amy's last recording was with Tony Bennett for his album, "Duets II."
