S.O.D. "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell
1/15/2015 More then 80 artists have covered this folk & pop classic from 1969. Mitchell wrote and composed the tune that was inspired by a book she was reading called "Henderson the Rain King" by Saul Bellow. She read about Henderson seeing clouds from his plane and when Mitchell saw clouds from her window, she immediately started writing. In 1967, vocalist/musician, Judy Collins was the first to record it. Mitchell has the most successful version which went to #3 on Billboard's Easy Listening survey and won her a Grammy in 1969 for Best Folk Performance.
Mitchell was active from 1964-2007 and is an active painter these days. Look her up and check out her accomplishments. She's a feisty one.
