S.O.D. "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry

12/26/2014     It's Funk Rock Baby!!  A 1976 #1 hit on 4 of the 5 U.S. charts it landed on.  Charting in 7 other countries, it topped the Canadian charts as well.  More then 20 versions were released by other artists with Vanilla Ice having the most notable with a Hip Hop rendition.  Public media featured the tune many times.  The title for the song came about when fans would often approach them while on their breaks and say "Play that funky music!"
