S.O.D. "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon

10/26/15     Praised by NME: New Musical Express as the best 80s power ballad of 2008, this alternative rock tune charted in 16 countries, including 8 U.S. charts, 6 Year-end charts and at #32 on the UK Decade-end charts.  It is the 5th longest running song on the UK Top 75 chart, running for 77 wks.  The 3rd longest running song on this chart is "Sex on Fire" also by Kings of Leon.

At the 2008 Grammy Awards, the group took home 3: Best Rock Song, Record of the Year, and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.  The entire band wrote the tune as is usually the case.

Three brothers and their cousin make up Kings of Leon and have remained constant.  Only 2 other musicians who serve as touring members lend a hand.  They started out in Nashville, TN in 2000 with their youngest brother, Jared a freshman in high school.  Lead vocalist, Anthony Caleb Followill admitted in an interview that the 3 brothers basically kidnapped their cousin, stayed in their basement for about a month straight with an ounce of pot and just practiced until they had 4 songs to present to RCA Records.
