S.O.D. "St Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" by John Parr
10/20/2015 This song was originally written for para-athelete, Rick Hansen who traveled the world to bring attention to spinal cord injuries. Suffering this type of injury himself, he called his efforts the "Man in Motion Tour". In 2012, Parr recorded the song again with different lyrics and dedicated it to then Denver Broncos quarterback, Tim Tebow for setting a great example and inspiring Parr. It was called "Tim Tebow's Fire". Jeeeez!!
This tune is also the theme song for the 1985 Joe; Schumacher film, "St Elmo's Fire" It ranked #1 in the U.S. and Canada and #6 in the UK, Parr's homeland. Parr originated in Worksop, England and performing at the age of 12.
He has written and recorded music for many other soundtracks, has won a few awards for this tune was nominated for a Grammy. He has worked with the likes of Meatloaf, The Beach Boys, Tina Turner and Heart.
