12/19/2023 Henry Roeland Byrd sometimes called Fess, and mainly known as Professor Longhair, co-wrote this R&B song with Teresa Terry in 1949, and released it in 1959. Mr. Byrd left us in 1980. His piano style was a unique one that only he may have used. The piano he learned to play on had quite a few missing keys, and he created the style of a rhumba boogie. Because of this, some genres may have been accidental. He lived most of his life in New Orleans, and was an authority on the city.
