S.O.D. "Son of a Son of a Sailor" by Jimmy Buffett

10/19/2023 On September 1, 2023, this awesome guy left us, and the consumption of margaritas undoubtedly increased. Being the incredible businessman that he was, Jimmy had his hands in many ventures. Even had his own strain of cannabis, and his Margaritaville Café on the Las Vegas strip, was at one point the highest grossing restaurant in America.

Buffett did tireless charity work, performing many relief concerts, and using his skills as a pilot to bring supplies to disaster victims. In 1981 he founded the Save the Manatee Club, and introduced the “Save the Manatee” license plate. He was born in 1946 on Christmas in Mississippi, being the oldest of three. He got his start in music after being inspired by his family. His grandfather was a steamship captain from Newfoundland, and his father was a marine engineer and sailor, hence the title. Buffett released 32 albums, 67 singles, and other works, and sold over 20 million records.

Mr. buffet has two daughters, and an adopted son. Author is among his many professions, and his three novels all spent time on the New York Times Best Seller list. The last book that he wrote, A Pirate Looks at Fifty, is his memoir. Salt Salt Salt!!!

S.O.D. "Born to Hand Jive" by Sha Na Na

10/9/2023 The hand jive has been around since the early 50s. It was created by Leon Bell and the Bell Cats at the Cat’s Whisker coffee bar in Soho, London. From that day, it has been sampled numerous times with many different versions of musical structure, and of course, hand movements. Sha Na Na’s version is featured in the 1978 film, Grease, in which all of the high school students look like they’re in their mid to late 20s.

S.O.D. "Red Rollerskates" by The Brunettes

10/5/2023 This indie pop/twee pop band from Auckland, New Zealand was quite successful in its day, 1998-2009. Remember, every genre gets SOD play. Musicians put everything they have into their work. Their work is their life, often encompassing any free time they may have been looking forward to. They are at many times on a damaging emotional roller coaster. Therefore, when you wonder why a certain song shows up on your phone, now you know. Enjoy!!!
