3/10/2024 This is Lennon’s only solo single that went to #1 in the US. In fact, it went to #1 on three different charts in the US. His inspiration came from late night channel surfing, a mild addiction for most of us. One night while watching, he heard famous black evangelist, Reverend Ike; “let me tell you guys, it doesn’t matter, it’s whatever gets you through the night.” John wrote down the words immediately, as he always kept paper and pen by the bed side.

3/6/2024 Sidney Selby, who took the enjoyable name of Guitar Crusher, just left us in 2020. He was born in North Carolina, and resided in Germany for some time, recording his music. Possibly, he was hard on himself regarding his musical abilities, releasing just seven singles over a 70 year career. Previously known as bonecrusher, he changed his name after breaking a guitar on the head of a disruptive fan in Europe. The singer, songwriter, guitarist, and harmonicist’s grandson is rapper, Desiigner.

S.O.D. "Far Far Away" by Slade

2/26/2024 This is the lead single from the English hard rock bands’s 1974 album, “Slade In Flames.” This was a soundtrack album for the band’s movie of the same name, which is about the band. The movie steered much of their fan base in an unforeseen direction, decreasing their popularity. Slade is still active, forming in 1966. Slade composed the tunes, “Mama Weer All Crazee Now, and “Cum On Feel the Noize,” which are mainly associated with the heavy metal group, Quiet Riot.

S.O.D. "History Repeating" by Propeller Heads, ft. Shirley Bassey

2/20/2024 A released single from the album, “Decksandrumsandrockandroll,” released in 1997. This was the only album released by the English electronic music duo. The song was specifically written for vocalist, Shirley Bassey, and charted fairly well internationally. Here we have the genres of big beat, and jazz. The tune has snagged 12 media spots, including in the film, “There’s Something About Mary.”
